No heating
Say whether the radiators are cold everywhere or only in some rooms, and whether the hot water still works.
Boiler repair in Grantham for no heating, no hot water, low pressure or a fault code on the display. Call or send us the problem and a local Gas Safe registered engineer rings you back to talk through the repair.

Most breakdowns start with one of these four. Tell the engineer what you can see and they'll work out the cause.
Say whether the radiators are cold everywhere or only in some rooms, and whether the hot water still works.
Say whether the heating still works and whether the boiler fires up when you run a hot tap.
Read the gauge on the front or underneath the boiler. Most sit between 1 and 2 bar, so tell the engineer the number you see.
Note the code on the display and the make and model from the front panel. It saves time and often tells the engineer which part to bring.
None of these checks means opening the boiler. If you smell gas at any point, stop, leave the house and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999.
Check the boiler has power: the display or lights are on and the switch next to it is on. Then check the timer or programmer hasn't been set to off.
Look at the pressure gauge. If it reads below 1 bar, follow your boiler manual to top it up with the filling loop. If you're not sure how, leave it for the engineer.
Turn the room thermostat up a few degrees. If you have a prepayment meter, check it has credit. In a cold snap a frozen condensate pipe outside can stop the boiler. Warm (not boiling) water poured along the pipe often thaws it.
An engineer can usually tell after one visit whether a repair is worth it.
The fault is one part and the rest of the boiler is in good shape
Parts for your model are still easy to get
The repair costs a small share of a new boiler
It has broken down more than once in the last year or two
Parts for your model are no longer made
Repair bills keep adding up and a newer boiler would cost less to run
Tell us the make and model when you send your problem. Before visiting, the engineer checks they work on it and can get the parts.
It depends on the fault and the part. The engineer may charge to find the fault before pricing the repair, and you agree each charge before that work starts, and our costs page lists what Grantham firms publish for servicing and new boilers.
Often, yes, if the fault is one part and the boiler has been serviced. If parts are hard to find or it keeps breaking down, the engineer will say a new boiler is worth pricing and explain why.
That depends on the engineer's diary and how urgent the problem is. They give you a time when they ring back, so say up front if you have no heating or hot water.
Some parts are on the van and some need ordering. Before ordering anything, you're told the price and when they can come back.
Call now, or send your problem and a local Gas Safe engineer will ring you back.
